The Hope House will be opening Spring of 2024! The community of Lakeland is thrilled to introduce this new non-profit to help first time expectant mothers thrive in today’s world & understand their worth.

I could talk on & on about this local faith based non-profit! To watch it grown from a small orphanage to this amazing organization is astounding. One More Child helps children in the foster system, hunger needs, trafficking victims, single mothers and struggling families. There are SO many ways you can get involved!

Parker Street Ministries holds a special place in my heart. When I was in high school, I volunteered with them during the summer helping the pre-k and kindergarten classes.

There they were in a safe space - learning their ABC’s, how to read, tie their shoes, staying active, learning of God’s love, and much more. This local non-profit has grown SO much since then...it’s absolutely amazing! If you have a heart for bettering the surrounding communities and empowering little ones - check them out.

I have always had a passion for our veterans; I think that stems from my grandfather serving. And when I learned about this local non-profit, I had to know more. They provide shooting, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor opportunities for veterans and active-duty military (wounded and well). They have specialized equipment that allows them to help veterans whether they are blind or paralyzed.

Bess the Book Bus has a very simple dream, but one that is very needed - instill a love for reading & provide books for communities that don’t have access to good quality reading. This mobile non-profit goes to different communities (now expanding across the country) providing books to children, caregivers, and educators where they may have trouble getting books. Do you have a passion for teaching, literature, and helping the community? See how you can make a difference!

If you are local, then I’m sure you’ve heard of this non-profit. Feeding Tampa Bay has grown tremendously over the years, but it is a constant need that we are fighting. Hunger doesn’t just impact homeless, but families as well. There are thousands of children in our schools going hungry, working families that are living paycheck to paycheck, single parents, and seniors. They are now helping 10 counties in Florida!! Do you have a passion for helping critically ill children & making their lives just a little bit brighter? This local non-profit is something you should look into!

They’re an 89-acre resort in Kissimmee that provides week-long, cost-free wish vacations to critically ill children and their families from around the world who want to visit FL.

It is quite the unique place & they are literally making dreams come true!

I love being outdoors and enjoying the beauty of nature. Sadly, we are seeing our beautiful parks and reserves being destroyed by trash, construction, or by simply being let go. This local non-profit focuses on bringing the community together through environmental learning and volunteering to make these places better. They’re current project is transforming a once vacant 15-acre lot on Lake Mann, into an environmental learning laboratory and space for building community.
